Living in Westchester County

Westchester County New York is the entrance to the Hudson River Valley which is just north of New York City. Located on the doorstep of one of the world's greatest cities, the southern part of the county is more urban and considered part of the greater New York Metropolitan Area, while the northern sections of the county are more rural and serene.

Bordered on the west by the Hudson River and on the southeast of Long Island Sound and Connecticut, Westchester County offers a wide selection of housing options for home buyers ranging from urban townhouses, co-ops and condos in Yonkers and New Rochelle, to modern colonial waterfront living on the Long Island Sound and the luxurious elegant estates of Scarsdale, White Plains and Bedford.

Metro-North Railroad provides service for Manhattan commuters and weekend travelers on three lines that run directly to Grand Central Terminal, with stations in most towns. The county is creating the Westchester Riverwalk which will be a 51.5 mile walkway along the Hudson River waterfront providing pedestrian access all the way from New York City through Westchester County.

Offering close proximity to one the world's greatest cities, Westchester County is the essential location for anyone seeking active communities with a small town atmosphere.
