The town picturesque town of Sharon is centered on a lovely town green where residents gather in December for a Christmas tree light and carol singing, in August to browse local arts and crafts, and throughout the year for friendly socializing.
Residents are eager to preserve their forest land, making up half the land in town.
Sharon Center School provides education to students grades K-8. Part of Regional School District 1, high school students attend Housatonic Valley Regional High School in nearby Falls Village.
The Sharon Playhouse is home to TriArts, a not-for-profit summer theater that puts on two or productions and several concerts every year. Professional designers, directors, musicians, actors and talented community performers and volunteers are attracted to this theater. A fresh new gallery offers workshops, readings of new works and other events throughout the year.
There is certainly no shortage of recreational fun in Sharon, with the local Audubon offering summer nature programs, walking trails, a visitor center and a raptor center with over a dozen birds of prey.
